BerserkerfoX: History.Altar.Ashes

What would be the hellish spawn of an unholy marrige between Thrash metal and Death metal?
Berserkerfox, would be that bastard lovechild of pure Awesomeness!

When I first heard throu the record, I expected something, "punk-ish". From the artwork ( being an awesome bionic body with: chainsaw-arms.. and a fox SKULL, chopping of an army of cartoonish, little piggies!..) I got a feeling that this was going to be a treat for me...

The first track just starts up with an escelating melodic treat, somehow reminds me of something I've heard, that i cant place my finger on.... maybe some Annihilator intro?.. after this killer intro.. the record shows it's true face! A kickstart with the drums, some riffage and a Growl! ( yeah, that came out of nowhere, This record has my attention!) as the first song, Self Professed Kings, goes on. I can't help other than thinking it sounds similar to SkeletonWitch, not a bad thing at all!

Well, all comparisons aside.. the next songs are all original pieces, Berserkerfox has an original sound, and a well produced sound at that! It shows that these Ausies, have put in a great effort in their debu album! If this keeps up, I wouldn't be surprised if they make it big-time, both in the land downunder( which im told they are starting to make a name for themselves there!) and Europe. I for one am going to be following these guys very close!

Time for a veredict!

Beserkerfox attacks you fierzly and merciless right from the start! everything seems to be well produced, the mix of the instrumenst and vocals is just perfect ( in my ears), the energy this record disembowels throu my speakers, is passed on to me, as a listener.
the songs are fast, melodic and a few times it's even calming.. before they make you jump of your ass and want to punch someones face in!
I would love to give them a full score, but a few songs seem repetetive, and at times I don't know when a song ends and the next one starts...

Many people may think Children of Bodom, when the term Melodic Death comes up... from now on..I will Think "BERSERKERFOX!!"
