Jag Bryter Nacken Av Din Häst - Skitarg Review

There are bands that sometimes just brainfuck me,and instantaniously make me love them. SKITARG are one of those bands. Some of you might know that I'm a exeptionally ONLY into Thrash and Death Metal. But I also have a sense of morbious humor...This, ladies and germs, is where Skitarg gets me.. right in the funnyBone!

This Swedish-fryingpan of a band.. is, how should I put it..?.. Quite unique.. mixing everything all different sort of stiles into one, helluva Album! (This CD ( wich I pressume is titledafter the band itself.. thats right you guessed it: SKITARG) is their first in what I truly believe, will be a long streak if they keep this up!

My Swedish is not all THAT good... but I think the name means "PISSED-OFF".. And this, if I am correct..shows in the music that comes out of my speakers.

at first eyeglance at the CD's coverart ( a picture of the band in "satanic" clown make-up) The band looks like a band that is out to scare little children, people with clow-O-phobia(me being one of these) or that they are just plain MAD!

This band sings in Swedish.. so if you're a dude outside Norway or Sweden... Or just don't understand Swedish.. you should still check them out.. cause theres some pretty rad riffings going on here!

After listening to just 10 seconds of this album.. my ears were bleeding in satisfaction. and I am a hard man to please! the first track is, DEFFENETLY on of the best tracks I've have ever heard as an opener for an album! "Jag Bryter Nacken Av Din Häst" is also one of the funniest songs I have ever read or heard! it's funny, in the sense that it's disgusting and full of hatred! (As ANY metal CD should be!!!!)

The CD in it's WHOLE, is FULL of amazing images.. and as mentioned before is full of all different types of metal that you would never have guessed could fit in ONE CD.... But I'm getting ahead of myself!

Songs 1-5 are easily likable if your not into THAT brutal metal..but song 6(Dripp Dropp Dripp) suddenly takes an unexpected turn. All of a sudden the band goes Br00tal!! wich be me is acceptable!! :D this for me is one of the most Awesome(-est) songs from uptil now!... and I will be honest..I suck at swedish! I only understand fragments of the "slang" in the swedish language.. but even so.. it makes what I can understand that MORE funny! the band sings in this song about anal-bleeding.. a child born out of the mixture between a Y-front(underwear??) and a a "keps" wich I think is some sort of dudes that suck cuntballs..also known as rich-daddy's-boys.... as you kan understand.. this is a song full of real hatered against someone...

The next song after this.. just raped me from behind while I was listening to it..It Starts of with a bueautyfull harmonics of what seemes to be a murder... they are directly talking to the killer..from the song title I would Guess that his name is Kjell...
Anyways.. this beautyfull harmonics crosses over to something more of the Nu-metal nature..clean vokals and slightly hard music... but the it switches when the singer begins.. again they take everybody by surprise and go APESHIT BROOTAL!!!!

The next song just looses me... it's to... Je ne sais qoui... It just doesn't appeal THAT much to me... people screaming, and talking with funny voices is not quite my things... although,I will say that it might be funny for some.. it's just TOO silly for me...

The next track, Is the Swedish version of KISS's "she"...not really... this I would be as bold to suggest is the only "sentimental" song on the record... it talks about a broken heart, broken by what seemes to be a huge bitch... Dude, we've ALL been there, and this song is rather AWESOME.. I don't see anything funny about it.. allthough, it DOES say " I want to rape the whole world" and " I want to kill everything".... but, these are natural feelings when some chick that you love has left you... and don't get me wrong.. I'm not down with the whole Papa Roach stile of singing of a broken heart... or the MyChemicalRomance... this is done entirely in death metal mode! (Think Six Feet Under meet.... shit... I don't know..Descending)... It's not Fast and brutal, nor are the lyrics agressiv(except the raping and killing part) but it's really good to see that metal isn't only killing,satan,demons, and gore... We metal heads have feelings too you know!! and this song is done PERFECTLY!!!

the nexts song just goes to another direction...giving whoever wrote the song previous to this one.. a big "fuck you".. with this song.. these guys seese to be funny... they suddenly go all mental and try to fuck everybody! this one speaks of a dude that has been tortured and apparently left to some pigs to eat... he then take revenge in a very standard way... chocking him, killing him, fucking his girl... burning him.. fucking his girl in his bed... burning THAT with his bloody body.. and well... it's not a pretty sight!

The next few songs turn once again humorous... some dude walkin behind a stalling old lady... thiking how she soon will bite the dust, Then a song about killing cuntball-sucking daddy's boys, even mentioned by name.. Tommy..( DUDE watch yourself! I would REALLY NOT want these guys knocking at my door!!)... then another killing song.. about some dude that tricked a chick intosleeping with him... ( I think these guys would make kick ass superheroes!!)
then,AGAIN with the "kreps" killing...
But wait...WTF??? right in the middle of this otherwise brutal song.. they switch into Reggea?!?!?! is this the music that these so called "keps" listen to? or is it just some fancy move to spice up the song?? I Actually DONT give a FUCK! it is awesome... the back and forward from reggea to black metal is really interesting.. then.. O_O... Again they change style.. but this time to a little more thrashy part.. an awesome riff and drum beats, fucks your ears and make you CUM!!! then all of a sudden.. they go back to the black Reggea part.. (OMFG!!! THIS SONG ROCKS!!!!!!) "Kepskrematoriet" is DEFFENETLY one of the best songs on the record!!!

the song after this...is rather short.. 10 seconds short... it was over so fast that I didn't get what it was about.. but reading the lyrics..( yeah, I'm cheating!) it's a song about chips..and dip??...

The next song after this "Sodomi Kirurgi Blues" ...I didn't care much for... Maybe the riffing was too close to NU-metal riffs..? I don't know.. I just didn't like it... it just wasn't THAT good... after a few kick ass songs..This just didn't make the cut... it reminded me slightly of "Anal Cunt"... wich isn't a good thing in my book...

The next one "Vargen kommer"... starts of as well produced Black metal intro.. think 2'gen..
it keeps on going with this style thru out the song.. about some dude taking revenge.. forsomthing i didn't quite get... the thing is that he's pissed off...the tune ends with church bells and something that sounds like a drone.. maybe it's a monk "aaaaahaaa'ing"

while the monk sings.. the next song begins.. and right away...it cathes you.. blending inn the "monks" once in a while " Skitaggrissismen" is a really awesome song.. both lyrically and musically... it's fast,its kick ass... and it's speaks the truth! These boys are trying to found a new "religion" where hate is god!... where there are a few REALLY KICK ASS COMMANDMENTS
1: Thou shall not wear a cap.
2: Thou shalt not have any Page( wich I'm guessing is the swedish synthpop group)
3: Thou shalt not touch an entoxicated young woman.
4: Thou shall sacriffice all/everything for us.
5: Thou shall sacriffice Eurosport(take it these guys don't like sports)
6: Thou shall bang untill your skalp falls of!!
this song is really an Anti-religion song... trying to convert everyone into something I call life of good habits and reasoning!!

the last song on the record is the funniest... it's a Christmas carol.. bound to go classical!
a violent santa-claus is on a rampage..and this is a song about him...how little children better hide under their beds.. that when they open presents their hands will be chopped off or they are going to be blown to hell... this is a super sweet song! and it made me laugh more than one time!


ALL inn ALL... this is a rather amusing record.. either you understand swedish or not.. the riffs are sweet and very well played.. the beats catchy... and the lyrics cling to you like an aborted fetus with homesickness!... it's well produced.. and I think... EVERY body.. except for the "true" Norwegian black metal folks.. will enjoy this record.. Skitarg are here to stay.. and I hope they stay for a LONG time! this band seems like a lot of fun to see live..If I ever get the chance.. I will.. and I will bang my head onto the stage! I can honestly say that after hearing this.. I am Part of the "Skitaggrossismen"

you should REALLY do yourself a favour and get this CD!!
